Venue: Coronation Park, Chewton Street, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire
Competition: CML South Division
Referee: Martyn Fryer
Scorer: Joe Butler
Line-ups:
Truly uninspiring game. We thought Eastwood would have added some quality to their squad with Mac and Addo in charge, but it appears not to be so. Linby were not at their best, to say the least, but my, what a dull game this was. I suppose Eastwood can look at this as a big improvement from early season results, and to be fair it was only a glaring error from keeper Andy Fretwell that ultimately meant that the home team still remain pointless after nine games and nine defeats.
Before the game, Mark Storer read out a moving tribute to long time Eastwood Town supporter Ian Padley, who died so tragically recently. The players, officials and supporters all joined in a minute's round of applause before kick-off in Ian's memory.
Linby had a few of decent chances in the first half, but looked a little out of sorts. Eastwood had two efforts land on the roof of Luca Rocco's goal, but apart from that showed little to cause the visitors any concern.
Linby forced Fretwell into one or two decent stops, the keeper ensuring the teams went in at the break on level terms.
Linby were gifted their goal with just three minutes of the second half played. Eastwood keeper Fretwell attempted to clear the ball out of his area, but fluffed his kick and presented the ball to JOE BUTLER who took his own sweet time to get the ball under control before side-footing it into the empty net.

Great sequence shots of Butler scoring the only goal of the game
We thought that Linby would go on and add a few more, but the home team made life very difficult for their guests. Damien Mann saw his 25 yard free-kick tipped onto the bar by Fretwell, but nothing came of the resultant corner.
The next chance that Linby had to add to their solitary goal came in the 83rd minute, but when Kaylum Mitchell played Butler in on goal, the striker's goal bound shot was well blocked at his near post by Fretwell. F-T 0-1
