Watched the game in the company of Richard Lane, Maurice McFarland and Pete Chappell - a veritable think tank of all things non-league!
Forest have had a bit of a torrid start to their 2014-15 campaign, with only a solitary point secured from their eight games played. Preston aren't faring much better - chalking up just the one win and four draws from their first eight fixtures.
Forest took the lead in the 9th minute, ANDI BELL cutting inside from the left and curling a beauty across Preston keeper Danielle Brown, the ball bulging the inside side-netting.
The lead lasted barely 10 minutes though, LAURA WALKER hammering home from the spot after Chloe Hutsby had brought down Chelsea Flanagan inside the box. PNE ladies added a video of the penalty to their twitter feed - click the link to view the video posted on twitter H-T 1-1
Went to watch the Reds ressies at half time - they were playing on one of the outer pitches and were winning 2-1 against Coventry - a lead they kept to go top of their league. Both goals from Tara Guyler.
Plenty of effort and endeavour were shown by both teams as the second half progressed, but it was the home team who looked more dangerous going forward. The winning goal came in the 69th minute, a superb NATASHA MEADE first time chip from 20 yards that flew into the net, giving Brown in the PNE goal no chance.
