What a good game this was - not at all like your usual run of the mill Sunday game, this was fast paced, action packed and both teams were a credit to  their leagues.

Good turn out!!

Although EMPAL outfit Dynamo had much of the early play, it was the Mansfield Sunday League team who scored first, MARK SUMMERS tapping home from close range after Dynamo had failed to deal with a corner. SUMMERS netted again on 40, this time a towering header from a right side corner. H-T 0-2

Clifton were back in the game three minutes into the second period when IAN FOSS slammed home after a bit of a free for all in the 6 yard area. It was, as usual, bitter cold at Eagle Valley and just when I was getting ready to head for the exit, the inevitable happened. With 87 minutes played LIAM SMALLWOOD slotted the ball into the net after the Archers' defense failed to clear  their  lines. F-T 2-2

We were just three minutes into the first period of extra-time when Dynamo took the lead for the first time in the game. Connor Hardy fired in an outswinging cross from the left and when it reached RICHARD SAUNDERS 12 yards from goal he made no mistake, sending a shot, arrow straight, past Archers keeper Graham Beavis.H-T 3-2

With 6 to play in the second period of extra-time, Ben Clark played in the Clifton no. 7 (who I believe was SAM DUNSTON) and he raced into the box before slotting the ball across the keeper and in at the far stick. Two minutes later BEN CLARK grabbed the goal his overall game merited, firing just inside the post from 15 yards. F-T 5-2
