We received our usual warm welcome from the Notts. F.A. Chairman, Malcolm Fox who kindly waived the entry fee, asking for it to be donated to "maggie's". Thank you, Malcolm - takes us to over £660, with still 2-3 weeks of the season remaining.

This was the 5th of the Notts. F.A. finals, and was played between EMPAL divison two leaders Manvers Arms, and division three table toppers Total Reclaims Demolition.

It took a while for the teams to settle and occasionally pick out a team-mate with a pass, but as the game went on, the players warmed to  their  tasks and gave us a decent enough game.

TRD opened the scoring on 20, when KUWESI OFUSHINE took the ball into the Manvers box, skipped past a couple of challenges before slotting past Liam Cooper. This gave the Arms a bit of a wake-up call and within 7 minutes they were level, albeit in somewhat controversial circumstances.

When Ben Smedley fired the ball in from the right towards the far post, TRD defender DALE KANE inadvertantly hooked the ball against his own cross-bar. The ball was hacked away, however the assistant referee had adjudged that tthe ball has crossed the line and the scores were level, much to the chagrin of the TRD defence, and keeper Curtis MacDonald in particular! H-T 1-1

Half way through the second period, Manvers took the lead after a superb ball from Ryan Thorpe fell perfectly for LEE POTTS, who gently lifted it over the advancing MacDonald and into the back of the net. MacDonald made a cracking double save on 77, first denying Potts, then blocking well again when Smedley hit the loose ball at him.

On 90, Manvers added their third, Potts racing throught the tired looking TRD defence and rolling the ball into the path of JAY KIRBY who managed to get a toe to it before the on-rushing keeper reached it. F-T 3-1
